As a Midwest adventure wedding photographer, I had a great time with Davin and Amy for their engagement session. Since these two are an outdoorsy couple, we decided to go to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle for their engagement photos.
Spring this year in the midwest has been cold, and rainy, which isn’t the best combination for outdoor photos 😉 After rescheduling the session, we lucked out and had a rain free day for Davin and Amy’s engagement session.
Davin and Amy enjoy kayaking and canoeing so when looking for a location for their session, I knew it had to reflect their love for the outdoors. The Morton Arboretum turned out to be the perfect location for their session, and it looks absolutely beautiful in the spring.
One of the things I love about engagement sessions is that it gives me the opportunity to get to know my couples better. I never want to show up on your wedding day and be just another vendor on your list, or a complete stranger to you. When we feel at ease with each other, it shows in your photos in such a positive way. Being comfortable with each other is the key to capturing genuine moments, and natural images that reflect who you are as a couple.
The photo below is one of my favorites from this outdoor engagement session. I love how the light is hitting the leaves on the spruce trees. This is one of my favorite spots in the Morton Arboretum.
Davin and Amy, thanks so much for asking me to capture this special time in your lives. I’m looking forward to photographing your fall wedding at Emerson Creek this year.
