Whenever someone chooses me to be their photographer, I feel honored. But when it comes to family choosing me, it feels that much more special. As a Lansing, Michigan wedding photographer, I’m so excited to capture my cousin Carson’s wedding next year.
Carson and Dalton drove from Michigan to Illinois last weekend for their engagement session. It rained all day on Saturday so early Sunday morning we headed to the Morton Arboretum before going to Kenosha that afternoon for Mother’s Day.
I’m so glad that the weather finally cooperated and we were able to get some beautiful outdoor photos of these two while they were in town for the weekend.
One of our goals for the session was to get a natural, smiling photo of Dalton 😉 Well, we got lucky and were able to get some photos of Dalton laughing. I can’t quite remember what we said, but I’m sure the photo below will be one of their favorites 🙂
The Morton Arboretum in Lisle has become one of my favorite spots for photos in the Chicago suburbs. The trees that are planted there represent not only Midwest species, but also trees from all over the world. During this session, we were able to get so many different backgrounds for the photos, and it was all taken at the same location.
Carson and Dalton enjoy going out and having a drink together, so the two of them brought along a beer to their engagement session. I always love it when couples personalize their photos, and these are some of my favorites from their session.
Carson and Dalton, thanks so much for asking me to capture this special time in your lives. I’m looking forward to photographing your spring wedding in Bath, Michigan next year.
