As an Emerson Creek wedding photographer, I loved capturing Jill and Mike’s wedding day. I got married at Emerson Creek in July 2015, and enjoyed every single moment of photographing Jill and Mike’s wedding as they created their own memories at this special place.
I met Jill and Mike a year ago, and remember immediately thinking about how great of a couple they are. They are kind, laid back, and enjoy craft beer, so let’s just say we immediately got along great 😉While she was getting ready, Jill was hanging out with her adorable dog, Bella. When I noticed that Bella had a collar of sunflowers it seriously was cuteness overload. Jill thought about so many little details that made capturing her day even more amazing.
Jill and Mike had their first look outside the beautiful white barn at Emerson Creek. It was pouring, but luckily there is an overhang beside the barn so the first look still took place outside as planned.
Jill and Mike’s reaction when they saw each other was so sweet. Trust me, you won’t ever regret doing a first look. During a day that will be eventful and exciting, it makes it that much more special to share a quiet moment alone with each other.
After the first look, we headed to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet for the ceremony. It was the priest’s first wedding he had officiated, but he did such a great job. He also had a sense of humor, which I alway appreciate 😉
One unique thing that I admire about Jill and Mike’s wedding, is that they didn’t have a traditional wedding party. Instead, Jill had her brother, Jason, as a man of honor. Mike’s sister, Stephanie, was the best woman. How cute and clever is that?
With a beautiful backdrop overlooking a cornfield, a white barn, tearoom, and even a vintage turquoise pickup they rented, there were so many pretty photo spots to choose from. Yet another reason why I always love coming back to Emerson Creek.
The details and decor at Jill and Mike’s wedding were absolutely breathtaking. I wanted to make sure I mentioned the vendors, because they were amazing! Venue: Emerson Creek Pottery & Tearoom | Stylist: Tina (Emerson Creek) | Dessert: EC Confectionary (Caitlyn) | Florist: Flowers by Steen | Videographer: Zach Mundzic Media | Truck Rental: Open Door Studio | Catering: My ChefÂ
Jill and Mike thank you so much for having me capture this special day in your lives. I’m looking forward to capturing more memories for you in the future.
