As a Chicago lifestyle newborn photographer, I enjoyed photographing this sweet family. Meet the newest addition to their family: Delaney.

I took Katie’s maternity photos back in September, and I feel honored that she asked me to do newborn photos as well. As a photographer, it is the most rewarding feeling to capture the different stages of life.

I think it’s so special that Katie and Mark waited to find out the gender of their baby. They put together an adorable gender neutral nursery, and were patient enough to wait to find out the gender until the baby was born. The anticipation of not knowing adds even more excitement.

Katie along with many family members and friends thought she was going to have a boy. Katie and Mark were excited and surprised when she delivered a girl.

You can tell in these photos just how in love Katie and Mark are with the newest addition to their family. The photo below really captures the joy of being a parent.

When I took Katie’s maternity photos, she wanted to include their dog George in the photo session. For the newborn session, we made sure to get some photos with George as well.

While I was taking photos of Delaney, I found it so cute how George kept a close watch on me. He wanted to be near Delaney at all times. You can tell he is very protective and fond of the newest member of their family.

I love this adorable hat that Katie and Mark got with Delaney’s name on it.
