Marta and Nick’s Chicago elopement was a beautiful August day in the city. They got married by a judge, and then spent the day with each other.

Marta and Nick wanted to get legally married before their destination wedding in Italy at Lake Como.

These two truly got the best of both days. An intimate day for just the two of them for their Chicago elopement, and then a celebration in Italy with their family and friends at Lake Como.

Marta looked gorgeous in her modern dress and Manola Blahnik shoes. I always think of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City when I see those shoes ❤️

Art Institute of Chicago’s South Garden

The Art Institute of Chicago’s south garden is one of my favorite locations in the city. You would never know by looking at it, but this garden is actually located on top of an underground parking garage. It was the perfect location for photos of Marta and Nick.

I love how the south garden at the Art Institute is right in the center of downtown, but you would never know it by looking at these photos. It truly gives off “secret garden” vibes with the vines throughout the garden.

Your Elopement Day is Special and Worth Documenting

I’m so glad that Marta and Nick chose us for their Chicago elopement. I know for couples planning an international wedding, many need to get their marriage license in the US beforehand. It might seem tempting at first to just get legally married and not have anything documented from the day.

But I encourage couples to see that the day they got legally married, will be their anniversary day, and it’s also the day where you said “I do.” There might not have been anyone else there besides a judge, but that doesn’t make that day or moment any less special.

I’m so glad that Marta and Nick chose me to capture this special and intimate day for them. Congrats you two!
