I loved capturing Emma and Matthew’s Chicago City Hall wedding. It was a beautiful and intimate wedding day with a ceremony at City Hall, followed by photos around the city afterwards. Emma and Matthew then celebrated at home with a lunch reception with family.

Emma and Matthew’s family is incredibly sweet. They were all smiles as they arrived at the courthouse, and were all waiting in anticipation outside for the doors to open. 

When Matthew first contacted me about capturing their special day, I was excited. Emma had just recently moved from Vancouver to Chicago, and they were planning a small intimate wedding at the courthouse. They will be having a reception later this year in Seattle, and I’m sure it will be another beautiful and special day for the two of them.

When Emma shared with me how her and Matthew met on Tinder, she grinned. Emma is from Vancouver, but met Matthew while she was doing an internship in Alaska at the time. Without this app, Emma explained to me that she probably wouldn’t have ever met Matthew.Emma and Matthew eloped in Chicago and had their family there to witness the special moment. The day was stress free and everyone was just so excited to be there. We joked that Emma and Matthew should be on the show 90 Day Fiancé since Emma moved from Canada to Chicago. “We’re just too normal to be on that show,” Emma said smiling.
