It doesn’t get much better than a Chicago Botanic Garden Proposal in spring amongst the tulips.
Ryan initially planned to propose to Kayla when they moved to Savannah, Georgia. But after giving it some thought, he decided it would be nice to propose before they move. Then they could celebrate with family and friends while they are still in Illinois, and best of all, Kayla wouldn’t be expecting it.
Ryan decided to propose at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, because it’s a place that Kayla loves to visit. He also picked the perfect time in spring with the tulips in full bloom. He told Kayla to meet him at the Chicago Botanic Garden after work, and it was so sweet capturing her reaction. She truly wasn’t expecting it, and that made this proposal even more special.
Before Ryan got down on one knee, he handed Kayla a fortune cookie. The fortune cookie is one that they have exchanged back and forth with notes to each other throughout their relationship. When Kayla opened up the fortune cookie, the note read: “I love you so much Kayla! Close your eyes.”
As Kayla closed her eyes, Ryan got down on one knee, and then asked Kayla to open her eyes. It was such a great moment when she saw him kneeling with the ring.
When Ryan pointed me out to Kayla after the proposal, she had the best reaction. Not only did she get such a great surprise with the proposal, but she was surprised again with having a photographer there to capture it all.
Following the proposal, Kayla made a phone call to share the good news with family and it was great being there to capture another candid moment from this Chicago Botanic Garden proposal.
Here’s what Ryan had to say about his experience working with me for his Chicago Botanic Garden proposal:
“Chelsey did a fantastic job capturing photos of our proposal, and we couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. She arrived on the day of the proposal early to ensure the moment could be captured (with my then girlfriend not suspecting at thing!). She was a pleasure to worth with during the photo shoot, taking us to various spots for a wide array of photos…We would certainly recommend Chelsey for a proposal photo shoot or any other photo shoot you are looking for!”
Follow the proposal, we walked around the Chicago Botanic Garden and took some photos. Immediately after a proposal is the perfect time for photos, because you are both so excited and in the moment. Ryan and Kayla are such a great couple and I had the best time hanging out with these two.
