I photographed Jackson and Scarlett as a surprise Christmas gift for their great-grandparents. Scarlett lives in Virginia, but luckily she was in town for Jackson’s 1st birthday party. I photographed the two cousins right after the party so that their great-grandparents wouldn’t find out.

The cousins looked adorable with their matching aqua-colored t-shirts. At first, it was a challenge to get Jackson and Scarlett to smile and cooperate for the photos, because they were tired from the birthday party. But after a little while, they started giggling, and I was able to get the photo below. I knew right away that it would be the perfect photo to get printed for their great-grandparents to display.

I have taken photos of Jackson and Scarlett quite a few times this year. I love how I have been able to capture each of their different milestones. Little ones change a lot during the first year, and as a parent you might not even notice it until you look at your professional photographs.
