Kes & Niki’s Morton Arboretum wedding photos showcase how special and intimate their wedding day was. The Morton Arboretum wedding venue in Lisle is definitely a favorite of mine.
Niki and Kes got ready at their home and then headed over to the Morton Arboretum to exchange vows in the fragrance garden for their October wedding.
The way that Niki and Kes look at each other you can see the connection and love they have. Photographing two brides I have to say really was twice as fun and special 🏳️🌈 ❤️
I also have a confession to make. When Niki and Kes recited their handwritten vows I started tearing up. Which is quite the predicament when you’re holding a camera because you don’t have a hand free to wipe that tear away 😂
The Morton Arboretum is such a beautiful location for wedding photos with its 1,700 acres. Trees from all over the world are planted here, and it holds more than 222,000 live plants.
Because it is such a large location, we all had to drive separately while taking Morton Arboretum wedding photos. Niki and Kes accidentally turned left instead or right, and then ended up taking a scenic route by looping around the entire Morton Arboretum. They finally saw myself and the wedding party from a distance and immediately parked their car. They started laughing as they trekked across the field to meet us. It was such a fun moment from the day, and I love how determined they were to get their photos started 😉
My love and appreciation for smaller weddings like Niki and Kes’s has definitively grown over the years. I think a small wedding or elopement is perfect for the couple that truly wants the day to feel intimate, personal, and focused on them.
With large weddings, sometimes the day can become stressful for couples as they try to appease others’ wishes and feel the pressure of wanting all of their guests to have a good time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My encouragement for couples planning a wedding is to first think about what they want. There is no right or wrong choice between a traditional wedding or a more intimate wedding. Think about what your ideal wedding day looks like, and don’t feel pressured by what others might want. I think your wedding is the one day in your life where it truly is just about the two of you.
Niki and Kes thanks so much for sharing your intimate wedding day with me. You two truly created a day that reflected the love you share.
