As a Wheaton newborn photographer, I had a great time photographing Kelly and Gary with their adorable little one. Meet the newest addition to their family: Shelby.I took Kelly’s maternity photos back in January, and I was excited when she asked me to do newborn photos as well. One of my favorite things about being a photographer is getting to photograph the same family over the years, and capture them as their family grows.

I love photographing little ones before they are 2 weeks old. This is when those special, sleepy newborn photos can be captured.

Since newborns aren’t quite able to regulate their own body temperatures yet, I keep my studio at a toasty 84 degrees for newborn sessions. I know that if I’m sweating, and the parents are sweating, it’s the perfect temperature for a sleeping newborn 😉

You can tell in these photos just how in love Kelly and Gary are with Shelby. The photo below is one of my favorites from this newborn session.

When I took Kelly’s maternity photos, she wanted to include their dog Fritz in the photo session. For Shelby’s newborn session, we made sure to get some photos with Fritz as well 🙂

One of the things I love about the summer is that it’s warm enough outside for newborn sessions. After taking some indoor studio photos, we headed outside to capture more photos of Shelby. The photos outside are some of my favorites from this lifestyle newborn session.
