As a Starline Factory wedding photographer, I loved capturing Alexandra and Brandon’s November wedding in Harvard, Illinois.

I didn’t know about this unique and amazing venue in the heart of small town Harvard, Illinois until I met Alexandra and Brandon. The first time I visited the Starline Factory it immediately made sense to me why this wedding venue was the perfect choice for them.

The Starline Factory has an industrial charm and there are so many spots throughout the historic building that provide such a unique background for photos.

This wedding was especially fun to capture, because the bride is also a photographer. Alexandra planned little moments throughout her day that I think really reflected her love of photos. For example, on her wedding day there were actually two first looks. One with her dad, and one with Brandon 🙂

It was so cute when Alexandra did a first look with her dad. Her mom covered his eyes while they made their way across the room. Once he saw Alexandra, he had the type of reaction that us photographers always love to see.

Hidden in the Starline Factory is a greenhouse, which turned out to be the perfect location for Alexandra and Brandon’s first look. On a chilly, November day it gave us the perfect combination of warmth, and greenery in the background.

First looks are always one of my favorite moments from a wedding day. In a day that can be a hectic whirlwind, I think it’s special and important to take a moment away for just the two of you.

Alexandra and Brandon did a dollar dance at their wedding, and I think it is a great idea. It gets a lot of the guests out there on the dance floor, and it’s also the perfect opportunity to get more photos with you and your guests that are there to celebrate with you.
